The Legend of the Grail has spawned many tales throughout the last 800 years. Not many people know that Scotland is reputed to be the resting place of the Grail and a safe haven of the Knights Templar.  Our tour explores Templar and Grail connections within Scotland.

We start our journey of discovery with a drive across the Forth Road Bridge into the Kingdom of Fife.  Historic Dunfermline is the site of a great Benedictine abbey founded by Queen Margaret in the 11th Century.  The famous Scottish hero, Robert the Bruce, is buried in the choir of the abbey and we will discover more about his important role in Scotland's history when we visit this historic place.

After a break we will travel westwards, following the River Forth, towards Stirling. Mighty Stirling Castle is set high on a volcanic plug over-looking the city of Stirling.  Our stop will allow a leisurely visit the castle where you will have a chance to see the splendid Renaissance Royal Palace of King James V and the magnificent Chapel Royal, where Mary Queen of Scots was crowned in 1543.  The views from the castle ramparts are quite stunning.

Passing the battlefield of Bannockburn we'll head back towards Edinburgh and the Pentland hills.   At the foot of the hills is Rosslyn Chapel, the reputed resting place of the legend that is the Holy Grail, made famous by Dan Brown's book The Da Vinci Code.  This is the templar holy of holies and you'll have the chance to bask in its mystery and explore the chapel for yourself.

Admission to Stirling Castle and Rosslyn Chapel is not included - payable locally.
