Virtual Tour of Stirling

Mighty Stirling Castle is set high on a volcanic plug and is one of the historic buildings which have come to symbolise the spirit of Scotland. Visitors to the castle have the chance to see the splendid Renaissance Royal Palace of King James V and the magnificent Chapel Royal where Mary, Queen of Scots was crowned in 1543. Next door is the recently refurbished Great Hall. With its thrones and minstrels gallery it takes just a little imagination to picture the scene of a medieval banquet in the presence of the King and the Scottish Royal Court!

The City of Stirling is Scotland’s youngest dating from just 2002. Due to its strategic location Stirling has been the site of several of the battles connected with the Wars of Independence. Today Stirling is a very attractive place to stay and due to its central location it is popular with commuters who work in Edinburgh and Glasgow.
